This was my first time working with renderings and I can say that while I struggled a lot, I have learned a lot. The assignment was to recreate our final microstructure models in Rhino 7 and then create a rendering of it, using Photoshop and Illustrator for details if needed.
This meant that I had to learn and incorporate lighting, reflections, materials, and aesthetic. To do this I took a lot of influence from the materials and overall aesthetic already present in my model, leaning towards blues, greens, and wood to contrast the paper. |

In my final poster I used lines to show off the different systems of the model, each with it's own color. I also used an outline that matched the yellow lighting present to outline the overall model. Unfortunately, there were plenty of things that needed work.
Most importantly, the rendering of the model wasn't very powerful, making the overall poster confusing as the system lines were also fighting for focus. Secondly, the lighting and materials chosen made it hard to see each layer clearly, making the overall composition very dark. Lastly, the angle of the model, which was meant to highlight the geometry and the intersection neglected the height and topography. The next rendering will make sure to taken into account these issues. |
